Pacific Palisades Homes for Sale
Home to movie stars and the affluent, beautiful Pacific Palisades is located between the cities of Santa Monica and Malibu. Covering 23,431 acres with a population of approximately 25,000, this charming small town was founded in 1922 as a residential community (Pacific Palisades is a town of the City of Los Angeles, but residents, through city groups,
exercise much local control and fiercely protect their "village" atmosphere). It is nestled between the lush, green Santa Monica Mountains and the sandy beaches of the Pacific Ocean. The "Palisades" (High Bluffs) run for three miles along the ocean affording area homes with breathtaking views of Santa Monica Bay.
Neighborhoods and enclaves contained in Pacific Palisades are the Palisades Riviera, the Huntington Palisades, the Alphabet Streets, the Bluffs, Marquez Knoll and the Palisades Highlands.
Famous for the Paul Getty Museum, Will Rogers Park, Temescal Canyon Park, Riviera Country Club, the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine and the Pacific Athletic Club. Pacific Palisades has outstanding public and private schools and is in close proximity to UCLA, Pepperdine, and Loyola-Marymount.
Pacific Palisades is a district within the U.S. city of Los Angeles, California, located between Brentwood to the east, Malibu to the west, Santa Monica to the southeast, the Santa Monica Bay to the southwest, and the Santa Monica Mountains to the north. The area currently has about 27,000 residents. It is a very affluent and primarily residential area, with a mixture of large private homes, small (usually older) houses, condominiums, and apartments. It has a small central business district on Sunset Boulevard--consisting of restaurants, stores, banks, and offices--known as the "village." It also includes some large parklands and many hiking trails. Palisades Charter High Schoolserves the neighborhood. It is known as "Where The Mountains Meet the Sea." Notable shops in the village include Norris Hardware (which originally was the Bay Theater), Cathay Palisades (formerly Fein's Deli), PaliSkate, Benton's Sporting Goods, and Village Books.
